The Revolution Success System for Hiring Coaching Staff


No entrepreneur on the planet gets paid by the hour, he gets paid by the action.  Yet every personal trainer has a dream of being an entrepreneur and working for themselves. But, there is no formal training ground for learning how.  Usually they invest all the start up costs and then wonder when more people are going to come.  Many fail, painfully.  Here are the 3 common scenarios:

1. Even the best trainer in the world with no business experience or formal training fails, or falls victim to burnout.
2. Years of failures and hard knocks finding a way that works.  Eventually some succeed but most can't overcome the debt or stress to make it work.
3. Investing in a mentor or program that saves them from option 2 but at significant further financial investment.  

This system gives our trainees #3 without the significant financial investment, and prevents burnout.

Why?  We can find qualified hourly trainers by the dozens, but that is NOT what we are looking for on our team.   We are looking for the standouts, with the entrepreneurial spirit, ready to trade the stability of an hourly job for the reward of unlimited growth as a trainer and an entrepreneur.  Hourly work is secure no doubt, but it's reward is limited, finite and driven by hours worked.  We've developed a system of training where you learn to leverage your time to create your own business with explosive potential beyond hourly wages.

We want to work with a team of explosively powerful entrepreneurs by arming them first with the skills they need to keep their business going, providing all the support and team environment, overhead, admin and infrastructure while they learn.  In the end this produces success as a new elite kind of trainer/business owner this industry has produced few of.   In addition, by first letting them be in the trenches as an entrepreneur, this program arms them with the skills they would never develop in a safe environment so they really find their strength and desire to be a business owner.  Then, the high performers will earn the spot on the team where Revolution can refer clients to them and become a part of a team that has earned the same skills.  

We teach you/provide:
  • The 3 magic components of training that will exponentially increase your income vs being an hourly paid trainer (we call it "SNE")
  • Systems for fitness coaching, session templates, shadowing and mentoring experienced trainers, and coaching approaches that work to get them results.
  • Personalized business coaching teaching you the skill that all successful entrepreneurs know.  
  • The secrets (techniques) to recession and attrition proof your business that most personal trainers don't know.
  • The power of the support of a team vs going it alone
  • Support of an environment and culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • All infrastructure-overhead, computers, equipment, website, FB page, administrative support, forms, etc
  • Access to an Established business identity, our marketing images and templates/resources if you choose to use them in your business.
You provide:
  • Performance - measured by the attached Core Team Performance Plan 
  • Learning and living the Revolution Team Code of Honor (attached)
  • 50% sales to Revolution once Training to cover overhead until you are ready to negotiate a flat fee (monthly rent with a security deposit for first and last month's rent due first month and a much smaller commission on sales).
  • NASM CPT, CPR CERT, insurance-all always current.


CORE TEAM PERFORMANCE PLAN

TO QUALIFY FOR CORE TEAM:  If any of these 3 requirements is not met, the opportunity is forfeited.
  1. Each trainee must close 10 deals independently to be on our CORE TEAM and work as a Revolution Fitness Coach.
  2. The minimum number of closed deals each month to stay eligible for the CORE TEAM = 4.  
  3. The maximum number of months you have to close 10 deals is 3, or the opportunity is gone.

Definition of FULL TIME = 28 clients on training and nutrition program / Definition of PART TIME=14 clients on a training and nutrition program
Scenario - If trainee closes 4 clients a week they will quality for the CORE TEAM and begin receiving referrals to help build their business sometime in month 3. At the pace of 4 close a month, it will take 4 months to reach part time income level and around 7 months to reach a full time income.

PART TIME INCOME EXPECTATIONS:
Training program--Semi-Private Clients pay an average of $360 per month.  14 clients X ($360*.50 Commission =180)  = $2520/ MONTH
Nutrition Program--Average increase for nutrition products =$50 X 14 clients = $720 minimum/month

Total Monthly Expected Minimum Income=$3240 ANNUAL AVERAGE MINIMUM INCOME = $38,880

FULL TIME INCOME EXPECTATIONS:
Training program--Semi-Private Clients pay an average of $360 per month.  28 clients X ($360*.50 Commission =180)  = $5,040/ MONTH
Nutrition Program--Average increase for nutrition products =$50 X 28 clients = $1440 minimum/month

Total Monthly Expected Minimum Income=$6440    ANNUAL AVERAGE MINIMUM INCOME = $77,280

Full Timers Bonuses:  Leadership, performance and sales based --
*May choose to train others under them for leadership commission.
*When sales are consistently over $10,000, eligible for 60% commission.
*When sales are consistently over $10,000, eligible choose to sign contract for a flat rent and an 80-90% commission.
*Eligible for a "leadership profit sharing" of ALL profits from the efforts of the entire team.

3 STEP TRAINEE schedule
  1. MEET WITH SALES COACH- begin entrepreneur training, clock starts ticking on core team performance requirements.
  2. MEET WITH NUTRITION BIZ COACH-begin nutrition business training, begin work to Advisor status
  3. MEET WITH TRAINING/EXERCISE COACH-start shadowing a trainer learning session flow and tricks of the trade for coaching, workout design and successful trainer/client relationships.

The Problem With Desire

We've been reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill as a Team and each RevTeam Member gets to present each week.  I chose this book because I've read a bunch (that is a technical term for hundreds) of self help writings, books, articles, and series over the last 15 years and I think next to the Holy Bible this is the most referenced and credited book I came across.  I figured what better way to read it than as a team. 

So each team meeting go over our big wins, personal and professional for the week, share ideas, cover upcoming events and news, and then before the reading discussion we always go over a fitness enrichment segment.  We each take a moment each week to present something to the team that raises our game as trainers and as a training group.  The more cutting edge and lesser known the better.


The point is at the end of all that is the really, really fun part we discovered when we initially tried this with Little Voice Management by Blair Singer.  Great experience, which over the month kind of bonded, annoyed and elevated us.  Good times.  So we continue the trend with TAGR. So?

Two big things struck me about TAGR.
1.  The darn thing was copyrighted in the 1930's.  And still is the basis for most self-help?  Nice.
2.  The book has a page before the intro that says the MOST PROFITABLE way to use the book is to meet weekly with others in the same boat and go through it in a feedback setting and working together to absorb it.  Very cool.

The first chapter was on desire, and that there are two big problems with people's "desires".  Most people have no idea what they truly want.  if they want money or success they cant tell you how much or when they want it by.  They can't tell you what it is if it isn't money and certainly can't define it down to measurables.   We went around the table and there was a small percentage that had a number and if prodded past the number for anything else or offered other options (higher numbers even) were unable to answer without more than a 2 second delay.  Interesting.  Could you define your top 3 goals in life?  In the next year?  For this week?  Its so mind boggling at first your mind just jumps right to something it CAN handle.

LIke the laundry, email, facebook, anything but this monster of a question.  We spent the next week figuring on that and will share that after discussing chapter 3 at the next Team Meeting.  My goals for the RevTeam is to invest in their leadership and success skills as well as to learn as much as I can about what makes them tick because I know Revolution and Revtraining are only as successful as those on the RevTeam.  It's an attitude and a culture we are after.  As our core values say, "We are Chasing Awesome."

So what is the problem with desire you ask?  From this chapter my take was how people say they strongly desire something and yet if the actions are not backing those desires up they feel stuck.  Maybe its not all the circumstances or others things you are identifying as obstacles, maybe just some clear goals with some definite deadlines are the issue.  Sounds simple until you try it...  Take those numbers you come up with and challenge your self - Why not 10 times that?  Why not do it in half the time?  Is the answer because you dont know how?  Dont believe you can?  Is that really what you will let stop you in this life?  Maybe so.  Maybe not.  But it would be nice to make that decision instead of having it made for you by default because you never stopped to think about what you are going to do with this tremendous gift we all have.  At least that is what I believe, so what do you believe?


The next move is we will be bringing those personal and professional goals to the next meeting hold each other accountable for having a defined goal, and slaying that monster of answering that question.  If that is the first step to ensuring success, then as a Team, that is what we are committed to.  WE ARE CHASING AWESOME!!!
